Is classification according to general type. Photographic typology is a collection of images shot in a similar repetitive way . Taryn Simon is a Artist who has worked using photographic typology to create an exhibition called "A living man declared dead and other chapters" where she photographed families through generations in a scientific manor as though she was documenting people like specimens. Her work is exhibited in a very neat and organised fashion presenting each generation as clearly as possible this is evident from an image of her exhibition above.
August Sander
August Sander was a German Portrait photographer living from 1876 to 1964 he published his first book in 1929 called "Face of our time" where he took hundreds of portraits of people across Germany. Displaying all the different types of people that made up the german population anyone from professionals, labourers, chefs, athletes, generals as well as people in mental homes which links to the idea of typology as he was documenting as many people as possible and giving the broadest view of the german population. Because of this Sander was very restricted by the Nazi regime as his work showed all kinds of germans rather than showing Aryan germans what the nazis wanted Germany to be .

Keys
Edited keys
Although I have attempted to edit these so the light is exactly the same in each photo it hasn't been very successful and needs some further improvements, some of the images have a much brighter white making up the background compared to others. Also there could be some improvements in the photos them selves if I redo these images I will use a tripod so that the images are all taken at exactly the same distance above the paper that way they will all be in the exact same space with exactly the same amount of background in each image. However I do quite like the composition of the keys themselves and how they have been laid out as they each set of keys is laid out to try and show as much of every key, keyring and chain in the image.

Micheal Wolf
Micheal Wolf is a German photographer and artist who lives in paris. He took a series of photos he called a 'series of unfortunate events' where he took photos of things he saw on google street view. He initially got the idea when he moved to Paris with his wife he was lacking inspiration as he realised that Paris had been photographed so much he was struggling to come up with any original ideas. So he began to explore Paris through google and when he saw something worthwhile zoom and crop until he had made the image his own. From this he went on to exploring the world and taking photos of 'unfortunate events' for example cars on fire, people falling over or people carrying guns and so on. The photos above are all examples of Wolfs work they all have a range of things in common every image is pixelated due to the nature of google maps, every face is blurred and every image looks urban.
My attempt
I think my attempt at taking images inspired by Michael Wolf was quite successful. I started off at my first house and attempted to travel to my current house through google street view taking photos of people and particular things that were off significance to me. However I then decided that this might result in all of my images looking similar so I broadened my search to all over the world clicking on random parts of the planet and zooming in until I found an image worth photographing. At first when I was trying to take the photos I was having some difficulty with light and reflections from the light coming from outside and from the lights in the class room. However after a while I found the right angle for the screen not to be affected by any of this I also found that the camera on my phone was better suited to taking these images rather than using a dslr that I had been using initially.
